Math Day is a field trip event for local middle - and high schoolers (grades 6–12) that will be held on Friday, May 16, 2025 on The Dalles Campus of Columbia Gorge Community College

The day's agenda:

9-9:30 students arrive and check in
9:30 - welcome and overview
(There will be three sessions. The sessions are about 50 minutes long.)
9:45-10:30 first session starts - students self-select but we are trying to have no more than 20 students in any session.

10:35-11:25 Session 2
11:30-12:10 Session 3
12:15 with some outdoor activities
12:45 raffle prizes

1:00 students are on their way home

The 2024 flow of the day was:

  • 9:00am: sign-in opens and students choose their schedule for the morning
  • 9:30am - noon: Math!
  • 12:30pm - 1pm: Lunch will be provided along with games (giant Connect 4 and Mega Jenga, Alka-Seltzer rockets, and more!) and campus groups will offer info about different CGCC programs
  • 12:59pm: Three cheers for Math! and everyone packs up and heads home
