Background

Practicing family and internal medicine nurse practitioner and clinical nursing instructor.

First trained at the University of Washington in critical/intensive care and trauma nursing.

Then employed as civil servant for United States Public Health Service - Indian Health Services. Member of the National Health Service Corp.

Pursued graduate degrees in nursing and public health.

My experience ranges from work in large urban hospitals to remote rural hospitals and clinics. The last 17 years of my practice has been passionately devoted to continued service to medically underserved, vulnerable and marginalized populations, including work primarily through FQHC Community Health Centers (Federally Qualified Health Centers) Focus populations include indigenous and LGBTQ+ populations 

Special interests include engagement in health policy and legislation reform, study and evaluation of complex health disparities, and intersections of public health and the environment.

Bachelor degrees from SUNY Binghamton and Kent State University. Graduate degrees from OHSU and UCSF.

Certification

Current certifications include board certification through AANP and ANCC. Current ACLS/BLS, SANE-A and SANE-P, AWEP. Previous certifications included PALS and TNCC (instructor) and CCRN.
