What is the Constitution?

In the most basic terms, the U.S. Constitution is a framework of our government. It is the document that starts with "We the people..." 

The Constitution is made up of:

  • The Articles
  • The Amendments - The first 10 amendments are collectively known as The Bill of Rights

September 17th is National Constitution Day in remembrance of the Day the Constitution was signed, September 17, 1787.
